Christi David selected as New Executive Director for City of Jackson, TN Parks & Recreation

Jackson, Tenn. – The City of Jackson is pleased to announce the appointment of Christi David as the new Executive Director of our Parks and Recreation Department. David transitions into the role after serving as the department's Park Operations Manager.
Since joining the City of Jackson Parks and Recreation team in 2020, David has been a driving force behind the department's modernization and development. Throughout her tenure, she has played a critical role in advancing high-priority capital improvement projects, securing vital grant funding, implementing operational efficiencies, and supporting the department’s long-term strategic master plan.
David brings a level of professional expertise to the position. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from Union University and is a Certified Parks and Recreation Executive (CPRE)—the highest professional certification available in the parks and recreation industry nationwide. Deeply involved in the field at the state level, she currently serves as the President-Elect of the Tennessee Recreation and Parks Association (TRPA) and actively participates in national leadership initiatives.
As a lifelong resident of Madison County, David’s connection to the department is deeply personal, having grown up participating in local youth programs and spending her childhood in Jackson's public parks.
In her new role as Executive Director, David is committed to building upon the city's strong recreational foundation. Her forward-looking vision focuses heavily on investing in staff development, expanding community engagement, ensuring operational excellence, and maximizing accessible recreational opportunities for all Jacksonians.

She understands both the needs of our parks system and the opportunities ahead, and the Parks and Recreation Board is excited to recommend her as the next Executive Director.
